| Trail Length: .25 miles |
| This challenging climb is a side trail off of the Paw Paw Trail. It can be accessed after crossing Rockhouse Creek on the left side of Paw Paw. The climb is very steep, and can be dangerous if caution is not observed. But the rewards outweigh the risks on the Cable Trail. A steel cable runs the length of the trail for steep climb down into Cane Creek Gulf. Hold on to the cable as you descend down into the Gulf. Loose rocks, some climbing, and navigating some steep spots will greet you on this short trail. At the bottom of the trail, beautiful views of Cane Creek Falls and Rockhouse Falls can be seen. You can explore the gulf by crossing the creek as it narrows, and by climbing around behind Rockhouse. The deep plunge pool is an excellent place for swimming. Please use extreme caution in this area. |
