Fall Creek Falls Lookout Tower
Off of Highway 284 in the park, Firetower
Road leads to this Lookout Tower within
the park boundries of Fall Creek Falls.  Off
of Firetower Road, take the only right off of
the road, go up a steep incline, and you will
see the tower at the top of the hill.

Originally built at Chickamauga in 1897, the
tower was moved to Fall Creek Falls in
1943 for use as a fire lookout for the area.
The tower was originally 100 feet tall, but
now stands at 80 feet.

Visitors are allowed to take the steps to
the top of the tower, but must do so at
their own risk.  Be careful of the railing at
the top, and stay off of the wooded boards.
There is plenty of room at the top to walk
around on the metal floor.

Fall Creek Falls, the Tennessee
Department of Agriculture, and the
Tennessee Division of Forestry accept no
responsibility for those who decide to take
the steps to the top.  An administrator's
private residence is located directly
behind the lookout tower.  The lookout
tower is closed at dark.
